Very CLASSY jlazo! I love it....I had a 20 for about 6 mos....wasnt near that nice....I really like that anenome? or is it a big ricordea mushroom? your GSP's look very healthy. A very well balanced mix and the light touch of macro algae is like icing on the cake...wat kind of macro is that?

It is an anenome, I bought so that my perc would maybe leave my xenia alone. No such luck yet! It is feather caulerpa too. I have a bunch in my sump and these pieces made their way into the main tank. I agree it does add a nice "natural" look.

Thanks thomas! I actually got the hammer from a LFS up in San Jose. I got it about three years ago. It has had it's ups and downs but it really is doing well now.
Thanks for the comments! |

Very pretty tank you got there! do you only have one fish? I only saw the one percula clown. Nice Caulastrea... is that all one piece? or is it several pieces? I'd be careful of those yellow polyps. I noticed you have some growing right next to your hammer coral. The yellow polyps have a very potent sting and can easily damage other corals. Maybe that's a possible cause to the "ups and downs" of the hammer. Great tank man! keep it up.

I also wanted to ask.. what kind of filtration and lighting you are running on that tank. Do you dose anything?

I currently have a 10 gallon sump slipt into three sections, the center housing some LR, LS, feather caulerpa. That is pretty much it as far as filtration. THere is about 25 pounds of Walt Smith LR in the main tank. I had a skimmer on it for a long time, the pump broke and I really never got around to fixing it. The tank is running really nicely and balanced with out it, so... I am not going to mess with anything! I have one 12,000k Sunburst MH, and 2 28watt actinic PC's. I do use Kent Marine Tech CB to keep the calcium in check. The candy cane started out as one piece but then during transportation of the tank it broke into 2. I will remove the yellow polyps from the hammer, thanks for the advice!
