refugium is full of hair algae

should I take it out, so the Caulerpa can get more light?

I would remove it to reduce competition with the more desirable algae.

Put some astreas down in there...put them right ontop of the hair algae spots .....once they clean up the refugium you can put them back into your main tank. Turbos work good too.
