Anyone use Jeff's Exotic Fish?
Curious if anyone has tried Jeff's Exotic Fish 9 for $99 deal. Any size? Quality?

I have driven down three hours to Jeff's for this special. He has quite a bit of selection and the quality is very nice. Go to this thread and you can see pretty much what I got a few years back. I enjoy going to his showroom and looking at those huge skimmers!
It's been awhile, here are some pics of my tank! |

I try to get down to see Jeff at least once a month. Some days are good and some are bad. He has a new operation in Tonga and things are going to improve over the nex few months as they have over the past few.........

I havent bought any corals before...but I have an AWESOM clam from there...and I have bought many dry goods....I would trust Jeffs for corals too.

I also try to get up there every 4 - 6 weeks. I have got some very nice things from there. I know I bought approx. 200 lbs from him and was pleased.
I would go more often if Mark (golfish) had a larger credit limit. ![]() How the new son Mark? Barry |

Hi mtreef,
I just recently got Jeffs 9 for $99 and I am pretty pleased with what I got. Great sizes on everything!! I even got a few "extra" hitchhiker corals on a few of the things I got. I even got what I think is some type of scallop/bivalve that is the size of a tennis ball! It happened to have a colony of mushrooms living on it so I got the mushrooms, which I ordered, plus this big bivalve for free. Plus I wanted to substitute a few things from the list and had no problems doing it. HTH, CaptK |

Thanks for the input. Haven't heard anything bad yet. He has some good deals and I need a good deal to get my tank stocked. Thinking about picking up some hearty mushrooms, leathers, polyps, etc.

Jeff's has nice livestock and good deals (especially 9 for 99) but they don't ship well and I've lost specimens from Jeffs pretty fast. I've ordered from FFexpress and Jeffs on multiple occasions and FFexpress always comes healthy and in good shape, and they stay that way. They mark their boxes LIVE FISH everywhere and they pack much better than Jeffs does, which really just uses a plain brown box. I wouldnt be surprised if the Fedex people just throw it around a lot more since they don't make a big distinction. I don't know if that's it or not, but it makes sense to me. I'm in Boston so there's a lot of travelling to do to get to my apartment.
Anyways, I dont order from anyone other than FFexpress anymore. |

Chrome, thanks for the input, I also have used FFE a lot and like them, but I compared the prices on this deal and Jeff's is a lot cheaper. Each item on Jeff's costs $11, FFE's run $24 for the cheapest corals , $17-24 for polyps and $30 for muchrooms.
The 9 items from Jeff's that cost $99 would cost me $228 from FFE. I am trying to do an initial stocking of a new tank and for that money, don't mind gambling on losing a few, as long as most survive. |

I lost a pineapple coral out of my nine pieces. Then again, I did pick up my coral from LA and didn't have them shipped.
