Post slowing down my Kalkwasser drip

My Calcium is at 470ppm and my dKH is at 11. I drip about 1 gallon of Kalk everynight in my 125gal reef. What should I do to maintain these levels? or are they to high to begin with. If I keep on dripping a gallon a night will my calcium keep rising?

I don't believe the levels are too high right now, if it makes you feel better than why couldn't you make less kalk? just a thought...

I'm guessing you don't have any LPS, SPS or clams in your tank. The levels are just fine. Its hard to say what will happen without knowing what you have in your tank. How long has the tank been set up? What do you plan to keep?

I have one Crocea, and the rest is divided 50/50 of hard and soft corals. A total of about 30 corals. The tank has been set-up for about a year.

Medman,
I'm sure your tank is doing great and looks great. In my own experience I would find it impossible to keep my levels that high in a 55 gal tank let alone a 125 dripping 1 gal of kalk. I had less corals in my 55 and dripped 5-10 gal of kalk a week, used 60ml of each part B-ionic 5 times a week, Turbo calcium and buffer when needed.....

Your not using that magic kalk that everybody talks about are ya

I add: Kent "coral-Accel" 3 times a week and Kent "tech-I" iodine once a week.

Medman-

Our Ca and Alk levels are the same, I also drip 1 gal of kalk a day in my 29 gal (compared to your 125 ). I don't add any additives in my reef, the levels are maintained only by kalk drip and weekly water changes. Tank inhabs are listed in my profile.

Are you adding any additives aside from kalk? If not, aren't you glad that your Ca and Alk levels are at par?
