    NASER,

My purple digitata is growing exactly like yours. A small bush or cluster. Yet frags from the same colony in other tanks are growing like you see most digitata growing. Long erratic branches etc.
I think it is dependant on water flow what pattern digitata will follow. Without a close up I can't say for sure it isn't a digitata.

Hey Naser I would say it looks like a M. digitata. I have found that they have a habit of growing differently from enviroment to enviroment. I have one that is a frag from another peice in my tank, and that one grows with very thick stalks and straight up (because of a heavier water flow IMO) where as the orginal is more of a colony as yours is. On the other hand the pic below shows one that has been moved a few times to many and is all over the place . I had a purple one morph to a blue such as yours but a little darker, and I would persume yours will eventually morph too.

heres a close up it may help you in iding.

    hope it helps

    mobrien,

Do you think your purple monti is the same as the one attached by DJ88? My monti is exactly like DJ88's. No water what current or lighting, only the new growth is purple and the rest is brown. I'm running four 250w Iwasaki in a 100g. If I remember correctly I purchased it like the one in your pics. So, I'm wondering if it is something that I'm not providing the coral making it brown in color. I've had the coral for at least a year and had about 50 frags from it already. All frags even after they grow into new colonies are brown with purple tips still.
