ideal placement of a grounding probe?

ideal placement of a grounding probe?

i was just thinking, where would be the best, most effective place to put the probe? would just putting it in your sump/skimmer, out of view be just as good as putting it in the center of the tank? or the reverse?

I put mine in the sump. Anywhere works.
