Talking Another case of impulse buying.....

I went to the LFS today, in the hopes of buying a firefish, royal grammar or a jawfish.... When is saw a nie big fat mandarin i remembered seeing him last week and since he/she was in a fishonly tank, i ask an employee what they were eatting (to see if they knew what they were selling) the guy said 'they usually eat copepods, but the two we got are eatting frozen mysid and sometimes flake' I almost did a backflip! i asked him to show me them eatting and they did... well long story short, i have a nie big fat mandarin even better it was cheaper than the firefish
    pics soon!

    Mark,
That's good news, BUT, are you sure brine shrimp and flakes are a good source of nutrition for mandarin's......My wife has a big fat husband who loves jerkey and beer Ok, I'm not that fat

is it normal for them to bury themselves? it scared the Krap out of me this morning, is saw it covered with pieces of sand...

also is it normal for them to only take food if it sinks to the sand bed? hes in really good shape and fat and beautiful, in fact i didnt think they got that big (3.5-4")

yes, they will bury themselves. Also, gtting food off the sand and rock is normal, thats were they eat, were the bugs and stuff live.
