nudibranch's are carniverous......they eat fleshy things like certain sponges, aiptasia etc....but each nudibranch species is totally different from another. they will NOT eat anything but 1 thing.....they are very very specialized animals. some opisthobranch's eat hair algae and other types of algae's. these opisthobranch's are aka "sea bunnies" these are pretty neat creatures i have several they breed like their name states "bunnies" if this nudibranch you speak of is truly a nudibranch i' d say stay away from it. once the food source is gone......they die very quickly. like i said they are picky. im sure ninong will fill you in on the specifics but if i were you i'd just get a good clean up crew instead of getting nudibranch's.....snails, hermits, shrimps and crabs are more hardy and eat just about anything so if i were you that is the direction i'd go.
good luck Jon ------------------ |

Neal ~
What they are selling is Elysia crispata, a photosynthetic sea slug that is reported to feed on Bryopsis. They should stop calling it a nudibranch. Elysias are sacoglossid opisthobranch mollusks and therefore feed on algae, hence their occurrence in shallow, sunlit waters. They also manage to store chloroplasts from the algae they feed on.
