its diatoms, possibly caused by excess silicate
ro/di water /more changes, snails, and for the sandbed ,pick up some sand eating cukes, holuthuria(sp),or tiger tail cukes, and nassasarius(sp?) snails.hth

If it's a new tank, just wait it out, it will go away with time. In addition to the the stuff organic mentioned, maybe a few scarlet reef hermits also.

My tank is two years old. Fighting diatoms for 8 months. Have always used RO/DI. Depressing, although I feel rather fortunate not to be fighting "Bryopis". Can t find the source of silicates.

Queen conchs love the stuff. But they wont clean your rocks.

RO/DI does not guarantee silicate free water. Test your water change and makeup water.

Do you have a refugium? Exporting mechanisms?

Paragon or Atlantis?

Im trying to figure out where to order from, and Paragon & Atlantis are pretty close (1 hour drive to atlantis, and a 3 hour drive to paragon) Ive never ordered from either, so i was wondering about who has better quality? also paragon doesnt have any prices listed online, are their prices reasonable?
