    Talking green bubble coral

    i just bought this coral at the lfs. i like to ask you guys or gals about this coral. i was told there were no special needs for this coral or is there.

    With your set up, you're in good shape, maybe a little more water flow if he doesn't open up a little more than that in a couple of days. [img]/ubb/biggrin.gif[/img]

    I may be wrong but it looks like a pearl bubble coral (Physogyra lichensteini)to me. Look on ffexpress.com there is a good picture of one in the hard coral section. Same care as a bubble coral I believe. medium light, low flow.

    that realy dosent look like a normal bubble coral more like the peral. normal bublle like light flow and you can feed them little bits of squid. i do it about 1 time a week and i ahve hade it for about a month and it has al read startd to grow

    Clown-t,

    The coral you have is a pearl bubble or octobubble, Plerogyra flexuosa

    Pretty much the same care regime as regular bubble, Plerogyra sinuosa

    It is rather tolerant of lighting, but should be fed.

    I feed my Plerogyra corals a piece or two of shrimp or a piece of silverside once or twice a week.

    They like a medium current and all in all are fairly hardy.
