Thumbs up Hawaii PICS (Lots)

I had a VERY nice trip there! thought you guys would enjoy some eye candy...I have TONS more pics...I tried to pik out some of the nicest ones of each category.

Here goes some DIVE pics

This eagle ray had to have a 6' plus span, I was lucky enough that it swam very close to me

Most all colors of these pics are drab, cuz I didnt have a slave light on my Nikon995...but as you can see here a Hawaiin cleaner wrasse which is indegenious to the islands has striking color.

Backwall of molokini crater, which was some of the best diving I did!

This is another of the backwall of molokini, I was exactly 91' deep here in this pic and as you can see the pic is crystal clear all the way to the top...Awesome VIZ there!

Parrot and a Trigger

every time I was in a boat either fishin, divin, snorkellin, or whatever I would see whales all over....I was prayin for an underwater encounter w/one but never got so lucky

Heres some pics of the Waikiki aquarium in Honululu

Here I am on the right....Lets see if anyone knows who the other 2 famous ppl are that I had the privilige to meet.

Ninong,

Yup thats them. it was so funny cuz I was taking pics of the main acro tank and watching Bruce Carlson clean the tank (didnt know it was him at the time) and after talking to him for over an hour he tells me his name and my jaw dropped...then he introduced me to charles....It was definately an honor! These guys are down to earth and very nice to everyone, and went out of their way to spend time with me! If my plane didnt leave that morning then Bruce and Charles where gonna give me a behind the scenes tour!

Fishkid

You should try and get to ORA farms its only an hour or two away from Orlando....You would love that place!

Sker,

I spent 8 days on Maui, 1 day on Oahu (honululu), I was gonna do some diving on lanai (weather didnt allow), I do have some aerial pics of Molokai. If I go back then I will more than likely spend time on Kaua, or the Big Island aka Hawaii, or Maui (again)....FWIW I wont ever waste my money on Oahu again...way to congested for my likings...atleast honululu is.

Wow, awesome pics Scuba! Looks like you had a great time. I agree completely about Honolulu/Waikiki. If/when I go back to Hawaii, I'm going to skip Honolulu. Too urban, I preferred the more rustic locales.

Very nice Dude. Your a better man then I. I hate the ocean, I won't even go out in a boat. I think Jaws messed it all up for me

Even when I'm out float tubing in a lake (flyfishing) I sometimes freak out if I see the bottom. I remember tubing a lake in the high Sierras and bumping into a chunk of ice. Needless to say, I had to go in a change my shorts

Red face

Pengiun,
Thanx Honululu seemed more like New York to me....I got approached by hookers, drug dealers, and other colourful ppl there.

Mark you wuss! :P

Its not as bad if you have awesome visibility, you wont feel near as clausterphobic (sp?) What always seems to get ppl is if they start diving in waters that have low viz...My wife is certified but she has sworn that she wont dive anymore (she learned in less than 10' vis) but after her snorkelling experiences in hawaii she is rethinking getting back into diving...damn its about time!

Leave it to you to get me into another project even though I have my hands full....I just got done reading that thread (for the first time), It looks as if I will be reading it just as much as the HQI thread! Anthony and Eric in on it! So im curious now about culturing zooplankton as well as phytos...or do you need to if you are feeding enough phytos?...I didnt quite catch it in the thread if it was in there. I knew I was gonna start culturing but you just gave me a jumpstart! :P
