CLAM CRAZY ( found him in Grand Rapids)

I love clms. God do I love them. Yeterday my wife and I drve a total of 448 mile in search o two things..... Clas d Harley moe clamd up in Grand Rapids Michigan. The harley we will pick up after we take sme casses n rider safety. So back to the clam. There is a pla in grand rapids called The coral reef tropical fish. The owners have a total of 6-7 clam\coral farms in the pacific. They do reef restoration primarily but are also starting to sell to the hoby as a way to increase their capital for the restoration pojects. The first maricultured frags wil be here anytime. I am excited. Here s pic of my new baby.

mrok12,

Did Mike just get those clams in from American Samoa? I've been waiting for some to come in for several months. I think he was going to get about 125 clams in this week if things went right. Was there an amazing selection or just a few?

Would appreciate any comments as I'm planning on getting a box of 16 of them for my new tank and to split with a couple buddies here in Lubbock.

Thanks, Nathan

Mike, those are some incredible looking clams! very nice. How much did you spend on them?

My girlfriend said she saw a "huge" clam for sale for $50 at a pet store in Saline. I thought you might want to check it out. I might go look at it too, but I think the only clam I could keep in my tank would be a Deresa and she wasn't sure what kind it was.

I'm moving in about 3 weeks. Do you think we can set up a time when I can get that southdown from you? I work every day in ann arbor 8-4 and I'm in the livonia area every tuesday and thursday night. Let me know when would be a convenient time for you. Thanks man.

Mike, sorry to hear you are sick man. Guess you'll be on the discussion boards a lot today! haha. Yes please save me some sand... I'm not sure how much I need. I know I want 4-6" so I'm not sure how many lbs that equates to. Maybe you can help me figure that out. My tank is a 46 gallon... the dimensions are hard to figure out since it is a bowfront tank. The tank is about 3' long, 1.5' wide, 2.5' deep. Those are all estimates. I know you suggested 200 lbs of sand. That sounds like it would be enough but I'm not sure. Anyway, next week would be great if you want to meet. How much $ do you want for the sand? thanks. You can always email me if you want to communicate that way. ~Bri
