how many overflows would you recomend with a 72 gallon tank

Hi saltymp!

Welcome to Reefland!

Are you talking about internal or external? Either way, one overflow will be plenty with a 1" drain and 3/4" return. More circulation can be achieved with a closed loop or powerheads, if desired.

Are you in the process of setting up a bow front?
