Shog,
You probably have nitrates or phoshates on the high side. Water change time! Do you have a refugium? Would help reduce nitrates.

looks like dinoflaggellates. If it is, it's a tough one to get rid of. Usually its gone in the morning when lights just come on and then builds up during the lights on period.
Water changes and syphon it all is your best bet.

i have that growin in areas of low water flow, it does go away when the lights go on. just another thing to chalk up on my list of things i dont want in my tank...

I have so much aiptasia in my tank, nothing is working, i swear to god they've adapted and i saw several of them 'free-floating around the tank im not kiddin they werent small either, like 4mm across, now i can just fish em out wit the net

i agree with fishpoo, these blooms can be quite persistent ,you need to up the water changes and raise the ph ...do you have a ph moniter?if so, ive read that raising the ph to 8.4 via kalk additions, and keeping it there will cause the bloom to crash within a week, not a guarantee but cant hurt either.hth
