Quick ID of a Hitch hiker

Hey all, haven't been here in a while, Just haven't had the time. I have a pressing question though.

In the past couple months my tank has been overrun with Aptasia. luckily I haven't really added any Inverts yet, so they aren't causeing any suffering. But they are ugly. My LFS is finally getting some Peppermint shrimp in (I'm not a fan of online ordering, so I had to wait) but I'm thinking maybe to help this guy out, I should just toss some of my rock and such out and start fresh.

Anyway, here's the problem. On a couple pieces I have something that looks sort of like an Ap, but with an Opaque body and green tenticles. Is this something different? is it good? I have a couple of them and I don't want to get rid of them if they are good. If they are okay, is there a way to move them without hurting them?

thanks for the help.

The green little anemones sounds like Anemonia cf. Majano
WORSE than Aiptasia....
They sit on corals spread out faster, and actually causes death within corals....

I'd Kill them, NOW!

Thomas

PS: I cant say that I'm 100% certian that its a Majano, But is a good chance that it is, so keep your eyes open

Just to make sure. Are you sure they are not Green Polyps?? They do have a radial cupped area and there are "tentacles" that come out radially from it.

If it is them, i'd say they are good.

On the other hand, if its A. majano, take them out. Can you post a pic?

Thx,

Ilham

Unfortunatly, I don't have a digital camera, so getting a picture is more difficult.

Basically, it looks like an Aptasia, EXCEPT.
Its white instead of clear. They have shorter "Tenticles/Feelers"
The "Tenticles" are green.

those sound like "majano's " to me...you mentioned not having inverts and the possibility of getting new rocks.if its not alot of rocks/its not a big expense for you....i would consider the possibility of starting fresh....especially before you even start....my .02

I may do that. my LFs just got in a huge shipment of Peppermint Shrimp. I may try that first, just because it is cheaper.
