I finnaly hooked up my skimmer to a 30g tank, but my temp went through the roof (86 degrees). I only have 2x55x pcs right now and am adding a 250w iwasaki soon. with my temperature already this high, what can I do? I do not and cannot have a sump right now, so everything is in the main tank. the skimmer is a berlin xl turbo. i also have a maxijet 1200, a powersweep, and a heater (which i think i just broke). ANy sugestions?

i have a icecap fan that blows the heat out from my hood which does and ok job. so if you don't have a sump i would maybe use 1 or 2 fans on the lighting.

Also is the skimmer old or new sometimes if it is not new it may be a sign of a ph that is in need of attention

It also might just be your PH even if it doesn't need attention because i just added a PH and it sent my tank up 3 degrees granted my tank is only 7g. I would add a fan either blowing over your water surface or in your hood. HTH
