Yanked right outta his shell?

Hi,

I've been reading this board for a while and haven't had the opportunity (read "knowledge") to say much. I do need help with one issue at the moment tho and would appreciate input from anyone who might have experience with this.... I have a newly cycled 50 gal, 29 gal sump, Reef devil skimmer and about 70lbs of live rock. I've got a few turbos doing their stuff around the tank for a week or two now and just added a few scarlet hermits. Just today I came home to find one of them has been yanked outta his shell by something! Would a Mantis do something like that? What else could possibly have done that. (Oh and I don't think its shed it's shell, cause they tend to take their butts with them I believe when they shed).

Well, that's why I picked reefdope! No need to reply, found him...I guess they do leave their butts behind when they shed.......

ya same thing happened to me one time
and the funny thing was i found a new hermit crab in the tank. .
went from like 14 - 15
counted and double counted and triple counted and still counted 15
