clam wont open!!!!!!!!!!
my maxima wont open up all the way and inside theres a clear film on the inside of his shell floating around.what is this?i have a smaller one that is doing fine but this morning my large one is messed up. any advice is appreciated thank you

Please give us some more info to go on. I agree that something could be irritating it. What type of lights? How much flow? Have you tried it in a newspot in the tank? I have seven T maximas. Let us know.....

Does it contract when you put your hand over the lighting? Is the area around the input or output areas starting to turn white? Do you feed the tank? what and how much? Check at nite w/a flashlight and see if there are any worms that come out of small holes in the shell of the clam? You should really buy Daniel Knopps book if you want to keep clams, he has alot of info on how to care for them.
