New Store in Seattle Area
Hey reefers. A guy that I know who worked at PetCo has finally started his own reef/fish store !!!
He wasn't the typical buy that coral cuz it looked beautiful.THe name of the store is "Below Sea Level" and it's in teh University District area. The guys name is Daryll. Nice guy and a nice little place, too. I have actually only been there twice, just to check what kinds of things he was just receiving. This is not an advertisement but just to let others there is another fish/reef store if you're in the area. Now I can go there instead of PetCo.....lol just kidding. Thanks, Ilham (elmo) |

Have an address by chance?
I live in Seattle, and it is always nice to discover new shops that open *before* they go out of business like so many have. I just recently discovered The Fish Store on Roosevelt & 61st, an awesome place with a helpful staff. Aquarium Concepts is another fine store, the only retailer I've found where I am almost willing to put one of their fish straight into my display without a quarantine period. I don't want to get into a huge speal on ripping on companies, but I would be upset if I had any stock in Petco. The Lynnwood store's fish department is great, the manager there is awesome and underpaid, but the bulk of their employees are idiots and in desperate need of training. I've seen hydrometers in their Everett store reading less than 1.010 while bobbing in their saltwater tank stocked with expensive fish. Intolerable. |

Will Post address here
I understand about a lot of fish/reef stores going out of business. I will place the address here when I get exact address. Actually if you know where the University of Washington campus in U. District. There is the Post Office there. It is on 11th and Brooklyn I believe but I will check to make sure.
I was also struck when he opened the store. The only reason i found out was because a friend of mine knew I was into reefing and saw the place as she was walking. I said, hey i'd check it out and there it was, a brand spanking new establishment ![]() -Ilham ![]() |
