caulerpa Q
i got like a couple handfulls of caulerpa. .
do i just toss it in the refugium and it will grow? or do i some how have to plant something? thanks |

Try to anchor it a bit to a rock or something to start, altho as long as nothing (like tangs) can get to it, it will make itself at home and find its own footing.

I have even taken the starter roots and buried them in the SB and as long as it is in a fairly low current area it will take root, but its real easy to stir up the SB when you trim rooted through the SB. Rocks are a good thing to use too...bigger more porous rocks seem to root better IMO that way when you harvest the Calerpa you can just yank it off the rocks and leave a little and it will grow back.

Cell Pore items make a good attachment point for caulerpa as well.
