I just pulled all my hermits out. I had redlegs and black/whites.
Has anyone had problems with these guys? The B/W's have started to eat my coralline algae and the redlegs seem to swarm my corals when I add them. Going to trade them in for snails. Bill |

wow, even the black and whites and redlegs giving you trouble.........
i have all kinds of hermits in my tank..never a real problem. sometimes ,some of the larger hermits will try to steal food from my corals when i feed them, and thats pretty annoying, but i usually just pick them up and drop them on the other side of the tank, and maybe give them something to chew on i like as much diversity in my clean up crew as possible, and my nephews like the little crabs too ![]() |

Today I just went completely crabless except for my sally. My black and whites got pretty big and within a few hours could strip an area of rock of coralline algea. Didn't like the looks of the bare spots.
I had the Baha redlegs but when I took them back the guy at the LFS didn't thinK they were redlegs. ?? Last night I caught my Emeral Green Mythrix crab ripping at my button polyps. I had to take the entire rock out just to get him to let go so I grabbed the other one out and they went back, too Traded them with a few extra $$ and got two more corals and some turbos ![]() |
