New Tank Pics!
Here are a few pictures of our new 135 that we set up yesterday. The water is still a little cloudy, but you can get a good idea of what it will look like.
Enjoy! Andrew

quick question? You did a complete setup on that tank yesterday? Or did you mean you stocked it yesterday? If you did a fresh setup you had better pull out everything except rock and sand to let the tank cycle, or everything is going to be dead real quick. Naso wont go through a cycling of a tank.

Hi Chadillac!
Welcome to Reefland.
In most cases, your absolutely correct. However if you transfer your existing tank equipment and animals (especially fully cured live rock) over to a new tank, and keep most of the water from the old tank, you will most likely bypass any cycle. Setting up a new tank from scratch is a different story. In asmith's case, I would say his established live rock will keep things in balance (along with water changes) until the rest of his natural filtration develops. Scott Z. |

This tank was moved yesterday. It was well established before the move. We planned out the setup so that there was almost no downtime. This is not a brand new tank. Sorry, I should have made that clear. We just upgraded from a 90 to a 135. All of the live rock was well cured before the move. The 90 was established for more than 2 years.

Here are a few more pictures of the setup. Mostly of the Sump Room (formerly a coat closet

I love that tank! Nice work. I'm wondering if the placement of the green open brain will be a problem. Looks to me as if it forms a little overhang, but that rock the coral is sitting on is stable?
Maybe you glued the thing down I'm not sure, I just wouldn't want something from that high toppling down with the coral right above it.I love the rockwork, though. Regards, Ilham |
