Unhappy Please Help!

I did something real stupid, I’ve been successful at keeping a reef tanks for two years now in my 40-gallon and my 5-gallon nano-reef. Never had a problem before, but I did something real stupid and regret it. I but a baby bubble anemone in my nano-reef that was in perfect standing. My tomato clown, instead of loving it, harassed it to death. That night the anemone blew its stomach out? And detached from the rock it was on and landed on the floor, I didn’t think of taking it out since it was still alive, and I was hoping it would get better. The next morning my tank was cloudy, the anemone was dead, and so was every other leather coral in the tank, they all became smooshy and smelled very bad. I have some other corals in the tank including mushrooms and green star polyps that haven’t come out since the incident. I have done 5, 25-50% water changes and the ammonia still remains at .50 and the tank is cloudy. I want to save the rest of the corals and live rock, what do I do? I have a 40-gallon father tank that is in perfect condition, but I’m scared of transferring everything into it, is it safe? What if it crashes this tank to? I was thinking of just getting a separate container and filling it with some clean saltwater and letting the rocks and corals soak in there of a while before I transfer them into the main tank? Is that smart?

Ya, the best thing to do is transfer everything that is still alive or you thing is alive into the 40. If you are worried about ammonia build up just transfer like you said from 5 gallon to a bucket rinse and put in 40. No enough ammonia build up will be present after rinse if any. After transfer make sure to keep an eye out for the stuff that you transfered to make sure that they dont die like the anemone.

Good Luck!
