Whats the difference? I know Distilled is pure water but dont know much about RO water. I use distilled because my dad has a distiller for his 125 tank.

If your dad is using the still correctly and running everything at the right water flow. Distilled is fine. I use distilled because i have a distillation tower. And i dont see a reason to switch.

The difference between RO (reverse osmosis) and distilled water is that RO is a purification process that uses a plastic membrane for filtration. Distillation is a purification process where the water is evaporated and recondenced in a 'clean' container. Very few commercial distillation processes use copper any more. What you are thinking of from the store is most likely deionized water which uses chemicals and porous beads to extract ions from the water. (There's actually a few different ways to deionize water.)

Rin is exactly correct. Actually, steam distilled water is more pure than reverse osmosis. A local water store sells drinking water which is actually 14 parts distilled, one part spring water, and the specs for it are "better" than for RO! This was news to me!!
