April Issue of Advanced Aquarist Online Magazine

Fellow Aquarists,

Today, April 15th (a day that's very special to us all), we release our 4th Issue of Advanced Aquarist's Online Magazine - www.advancedaquarist.com.

Over the last four months you have watched our magazine grow and improve. It has always been our mission to make each issue of Advanced Aquarist better than the last, and with this 4th issue we have met our goal.

This month's Feature Article is by Daniel Knop, author of the book Giant Clams, and a very knowledgable member of the German reefkeeping community. His article covers Mangroves and really goes into important detail about their habitat and their husbandry (and myths) in aquaria. I think you will all enjoy the beautiful photos and inciteful discussion! Our cover photo this month is of a mangrove estuary - shot by Eric Borneman in Belize.

We have added two columns this month to really round out the publication. The first is a Marine Fish Column under the heading of Vertebrates. Our inaugural column is by the acclaimed writer and underwater photographer Scott Michael - author of Reef Fishes, Vols I and II. Scott will share this slot with Greg Scheimer a well known hobbyist, author and speaker.

Secondly, we have added a column in an area that is especially dear to us - Marine Fish Breeding. This space will be shared by Frank Marini and Martin Moe - both of which we're sure you are all familiar. Franks column is entitled "The Breeders Net" and will cover a broad range of breeding topics.

If you add these two to last month's additions - Rob Toonen (Invertebrates) and Randy Donowitz (Reefkeeping Basics) you can see that we have really rounded the magazine out to appeal to a broad range of aquarists.

But once again, remember one of our goals - always do better. We still have a few tricks and treats in store for you in upcoming months.

Lastly, if you have a question that you feel can best be answered by one of the Advanced Aquarist writers, be sure to submit it to our Advanced Aquarist's Discussion board at:

Sincerely,
The Staff at:
