I added 7 about 2 weeks ago. with the exception of the 1 that got snagged by my haddoni while being added to the tank, they 6 that are left have eaten about 80% of my aiptasias and are still going!
I didnt believe it at first but I am thrilled!!!!!!!!!!1 j

I have had great success with peppermint shrimps..i have notices that they only will eath the smaller aptasia...they will NOT eat aptasia that are halfs its body size..after going through 5 pepermints..they seem to graze on aptasia after a few days..i had to nuke the larger ones but after that everything was fine..

Peppermints have always worked for me, too. The four I have now, I added shortly after my 75 cycled. There were quite a few of those darn aiptasias on the LR. All were gone inside of a week. I added a small pocillopora frag a couple of weeks ago that had a few of the buggers on the little piece of rock it was attached to. They were gone by morning!! LOL.
I have read about another shrimp that looks similar to the peppermint, but does not eat aiptasia. James |

CAmel shrimp are the ones that look like peps but actually eat corals! Camels have a hump on there back. Just for clarification...

I have had great success with them also! I think it is very important to have a few in your tank prior to having a aiptasia outbreak. In my experiences if you dont have aiptasia sooner or later you will. So its best to have a couple pepps
in your tank to eliminate the first one to pop up. Also throwing one in your refugium is also a great idea. JMO Ryan |
