Does anybody know where I can pick up a red starfish
(Fromia Elegans). Most of my usual online choices do not carry this starfish. I have tried Pet Warehouse, Jeff's Exotic Fish, FF Express, and Inland Aquatics. Please help me out! Sker |

Have you tried this place: http://216.185.137.245/starfish/starfish_red_flat.htm Ninong ------------------ "I'm hopeful. Speaking of Fromia elegans, Susan just posted a pic of her 20-gal tank with two very nice specimens -- http://www.reefland.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/009119.html

Ltspd ~
Yes, they are reef-safe. Fromia indica is another species of red starfish. As a general rule, all of the Fromia spp. and the Linckia spp. are reef-safe, feeding on detritus, surface microbes, and surface algal films. One of the nice things about Fromia elegans is that it doesn't get much larger than 3"... also, it is more likely to be seen in the daytime in your tank than Linckia laevigata, which is naturally nocturnal. Ninong ------------------ "For every fatal shooting, there were roughly three non-fatal shootings. And, folks, this is unacceptable in America. It's just unacceptable. And we're going to do something about it."—George W. Bush, Philadelphia, May 14, 2001 |
