Pic taking tips

What are your pic taking tips of your tanks? I am still learning to use the digital so, any tips would be appreciated. I have a Nikon 880. Thanks!

Dont use the flash when the light are on, and dont use it if your far away from the tank.(if you do, You'll get lots of reflections)
Always have your lens paralell with the glass, or else your fishies will look like theyve been streched out.

The single largest improvement that I had in my pictures came after I bought a tripod. Other than that, I just take lots of pictures and play around with the settings. Remember that you don't have to worry about wasting film. You may have to take 50 pictures of the same object to get that one special picture.
