Razor lost in LR - what to do?

I was cleaning coraline off the glass a few days ago and dropped the razor blade down into the LR and couldn't find it. How much of a problem could this be for my tank? It was one of those blades that you drop into the end of the razor that was popular 20 to 30 years ago - an inch by half inch in size approx.

DEFINITELY try and find it, i use these blades to scrape my glass once a month and after 2-3 days in my drawer its almost completely rusted over and must be thrown away, even after rinsing it in fresh water. Try using your glass magnet to pick it up or a fork ( plastic prefferably)to gently move through the sand. anything but find it...hth

if you cant see it and your tank is all setup with livestock then just leave it. if your set up is new with no livestock and your not worried about ripping the live rock apart then go ahead.

I did the same thing, and I tore down the LR in the area where the blade dropped until I found it. Metal can be deadly in a small environment like a tank.

To prevent the same problem in the future, I tied a 3 foot piece of heavy monofilament fishing line to the blade, so if I dropped it, I could pull it out with the line.

Heres a thought

In just about any tool section of stores (walmart, sears, or any autoparts store) you can find a long skinny magnet which can reach into hard to look/reach spots try and pull/look for it this way.
