Green slime algae everywhere |

I've got this "green slime" algae thats growning on my rocks and in a few spots on my sand. The tank is only a few months old. What is causing this? Any help apreciated . . .

Inan, welcome to Reefland. Have you tested for nitrates? Algae just loves nitrates. Are you feeding heavily? What type(s) of filtration do you have? Also, please note that your tank is still "young". It's not unusual to have numerous algae outbreaks within the first 4-6 months. I had them. Anyway, unless it gets out of hand, it'll probably subside after a few weeks considering, once again, the age of your tank. FWIW, when I had a film algae outbreak, I tossed a couple of Abalones in the tank along w/ some Queen Conchs. Whipped it into shape in no time. HTH
