    Question Reef Lighting

    Hi ,
I am in the process of setting up a semi-reef tank , i have had it up and running with only fish for 4 months now , I would like to keep soft corals and general low light species. I am ordering Arcadia Marine White and Arcadia Marine Actinic , could you tell me how many of each i would need ,
    Thanks,

    Jacob.

Can you tell us a bit more about your setup? I assume its the 55g tank thats in your profile? How many watts are each of these Arcadia Marines? are they powercompacts or VHO's? what are the dimensions of your tank? Do you have a deep sand bed? I think the Arcadia Marine Actinic are standard flourescent lights if so I would atleast shoot for about 250watts maybe half actinic and the other half white. Alot of ppl use as a general rule of thumb 3-5 watts per gallon.

Each of the Arcadia Marines are 38 Watt and it is my 55g tank , i dont currently have a DSB. The tank is a rectangular shape with a Sump , Deltec Turbo Skimmer , 2 Powerheads , 2 External Canister Filters etc.
Im thinking of going for 2 Marine White , 2 Marine Actinic and 1 Marine Blue , that should give an all round good lighting affect,

    Any thoughts

    I have 6x36W Lightning.
2xmarine blue and 4xmarine white.reflectors, ballasts are all Arcadia.

MY LPS is growing like crazy(!), so is all the softies and corraline algea.
I know others who grow SPS under this lightning.I'd really reccomend you this setup, it's great, and very versatile.

    I also have a Deltec skimmer(AP600) ...gotta love'em!
They said aquariums would be relaxing......(yeah right)
