Coral banded Shrimp?
I don't want to risk a green emerald crab so how about a coral banded shrimp? Do they eat corals, small fish, snails, small hermits?
thanks |

Coral banded shrimp tend to kill off other CBS's and they don't play well with other shrimp. I think if you are just going for some shrimp to help with the clean up crew and help your fish with the occasional parasite, I would go with Peppermint shrimp. They seem to be the safest of all the shrimps I've had. HTH

I have 2 skunk cleaners and 1 CBS and they all get along fine for the past 6+mos. The CBS gets the small underhang and the 2 skunks get the bigger one. They have all reach fair size and each can stand their own. as long as everyone gets some food and plenty of room your good to go! I have 3 emerald mithrax, tons of nassarius, cerith, mex turbos, and astreas, and maybe 2 or 3 small hermit crabs and everyone seems to get along

My CBS goes after my yellow tang all the time, but he leaves the other shrimp alone: I have 1 skunk cleaner and 3 peppermints. Never seen him nip at any corals, but it's funny to watch him try and grab the yellow tang -- he never comes close and the tang always smacks him back

I agree CBS seem to be destructive to say the least, I watched 1 in my FOWLR tank rearrainge my smaller rocks to his liking and chase off anything that came near... Better the Crab in this case...
