Nitrate and LR cycle
I have been changing 20% in the 120 every week. The NH3 is down to 1.0 and The NO2 is @ .025. The nitrate is like 50ppm all with salifert test kits. I have no sand in the bottom of the tank yet either. I am toying with the idea of adding something to suck up the nitrate. My euro-reef has slowed down now wnd the water had lost it's odor. The rock still smell a bit but nothing like a week ago. What do you guys think of exposing some macro to this tank and letting it suck up these nitrates? Advice is helpful as I have another batch coming in soon. I am curing it in the basement in a smaller tank.

note much though just a little at first and if it takes off then add some more. then start harvesting in a couple weeks! Rinse the new batch coming in with water from the main system by doing a w/c (which will help boost the first batch) then add to the system. This is what I would do anyway |
