I purchased my RO unit last July. It produces an average of 10-12 gal per week. How do I know when it wears out? Is there a test kit which will tell you the unit is not functioning like it was when first piurchased? Are replacement diphragms/filters pretty standard or will I need to contact the original seller?

Hi burger!
Welcome to Reefland!
A TDS meter will tell you how your unit is performing. Measure your tap water and then the filtered water produced from your RO unit. Optimally your looking for a TDS as close to 0 as possible. Hanna makes a decent hand-held TDS meter which can be picked up online for around $20.00. Hope that helps, Scott Z. |
