Dispar Anthias
My pops and I picked up a Dispar Anthias yesterday and I'd like to hear what everyones experiences with them are. It immediately took shelter in my lr but has since become quite the spectacle. The dispar is quite active but is still one to dive in the rock for shelter occasionally. It picks at the rock and eats prepared food as well so doing good so far. What do you guys do as far as feeding? Anything special you feeding? Thanks

I dont have Dispar....I have some sunburst anthias, and they are pigs! your supposed to feed them 2-4 times a day....I feed mine twice a day and they do fine, but make sure they get enough food....I buy frozen peeled raw shrimp and I cut shrimp up into little bitty pieces and soak it in Zoe or Selcon .....they love it....plus about once a week all my fish get live brine shrimp.

Not too many anthias owners around I take it. Thanks for your reply. My dispar is quite the hog as well. But the rest of the fish have become quite fond of the extra feeding a day. The clown is getting bigger and fatter as are my other guys. The clown just seems to be getting meaner the bigger she gets. Anyone else want to chime in? I'm feeding a spirulina flake(twice daily), brine shrimp( lunch
) and a frozen brine/krill/spirulina/etc cube (twice daily). Once in a while i will soak the shrimp or the flake in phytoplankton as well. Oh i'm also feeding another pellet type krill enhanced formula.....the name slips my mind right now and im too lazy to venture and find it but i'll report back once ive used it more and gotten to see its affects in my tank.Jon |
