Question PH ?

The PH in my new tank is 8.0. ALK 3.2. I would like to raise the PH. Would it be ok to start adding some buffer?
Thx
S

Hey there Susan! Yes, it is okay to add some buffer. But when are you planning on hooking up your CA Reactor? Just wondered. Hope all is going well.

Thx Joanne. I will add some. I hope to get it hooked up within this week. Got to purchase the CO2 tank.
Right now I have the electricians putting in 2 20amps with the GFI sockets. Also I woke up to a dead Rio Pump in my nano, so I am also dealing with that right now. WOW! so much to do, so little time, and I still have to get to my office. This is so much Fun.

Just curious why with a pH of 8.0 you want to raise it? To me it wouldn't be worth adding buffers to my tank. I think the possible rising and fallin of pH while buffering can be hard on your critters.
