long tenticle plate.. good clown host?
Just wondering if any of you guys have a long tenticle plate coral that your clown uses for a host. Are these good candidates for hosting a clown? I have a mature clown (approx 8 years old, about 5 inches long) that is in need of a host. I have a bubble tip anemone, but it moves to odd places in the tank and the clown won't go in the anemone after it is out of her territory. Anyway, I was thinking of either getting a carpet anemone or a long tenticle plate coral to try as another host. I'm pretty sure I don't have enough lighting for the carpet. The plate coral is an attractive choice since it won't move around on me, and from what I've heard/read, they are very hardy. Does anyone have a plate hosting a clown? if not, what would some other good options be for a host? gracias.

Not only are they NOT a good host for a clown they are not really a good or should I say long lived coral in our tanks. There are acceptions but I have never seen one in a tank for over one year.
The clown will only make things worse for the plate coral. |
