    Really dumb question

    Can you frag open brains? I've never kept them but I plan to....

    They do sometimes split and form an additional mouth. However, you can not cut a piece of it off and expect it to grow, so--- no they can't be fragged.

    you can frag certain types of brains but not open, atleast I have heard of it being done, but with limited success...but you basically have to just take a hammer and whack it in half....as you can see the mortality rate can be high. I have seen a brain actually form a big bubble blister on its side and I think this is a form of fission reproduction. So im apt to believe that they can reproduce naturally better if given the right elements rather than farming them JMO though

    There's one dude in norway whom can frag anything but clams!!!

    I've seen him fragging brains hammers etc.
    He uses a jig saw and just cut the sceleton(?) in half.

    So it is possible to frag them, but I would'nt reccomend it.
    The dude i know has been fragging for 15yr+
    They said aquariums would be relaxing......(yeah right)
