lawnmower blenny food

Hey guys.. how's everybody doing? Hey does anyone know of any kind of macro algea I could grow in my refugium to use as food for my algea blenny?? I know the obvious answer would be to grow some hair algea, but I was just wondering if there is any type of macro that they will eat. He's been doing just fine for the 2 months I've had him. He cruises around the tank all day long and picks off of the rocks and glass. I just like to have nice fat fish. I would feel better if I had some kind of food that I knew he would eat. Any ideas?

Mine would eat Nori and Formula1&2. They can become very tame and eat from your fingers. They will even graze on your arm when you are cleaning the glass. It feels pretty freaky with their rasp like teeth.

Regards,
Kevin

Mine was given to me by my lfs. He had moved him to a cubicle and forgot he was there for over a month. Needless to say the cubicle was spotless and the blennie was almost starved to death. I put him my 55 and he started eating. In August I moved him to my new 180 and now he looks like he is pregant and is almost 4" in length. All he ever eats is the algae on the rocks and glass.

Uel- that is all mine does right now too.... eats off the rocks and glass. I guess I'm just concerned that this is enough food for him. There isn't any hair algea growing in the tank, but I still see him picking off the rocks and glass. I feed my other fish omega 1 flake and green seaweed selects. The blenny hasn't touched either of those.

Too bad you didn't ask about 2 months ago.....I had enough hair algae in my tank to feed every lawnmower blenny in captivity!

Now there is a piano where my tank used to be.
