how long for kalk to settle?

This is a pretty dumb question, but I'd still like to get some opinions. When mixing up a new batch of kalk, how long do you guys usually wait before starting the drip? I just started dripping kalk a couple of weeks ago so don't smack me for such a basic question. The instructions say to wait several hours. My lfs said to wait a full day. Seems to me like you can start the drip about 4 to 5 hours after mixing it up. How long do you guys wait?

I mix mine in an old Instant Ocean bucket and just stir it with a plastic stick. I wait about 1 hour before I open the valve.

I like to wait about 24 hours then siphon off all but the last inch or so on the bottom of the jug. I dont know if thats the "offical" way to do it or not but it seems to work for me.

I run a powerhead in mine for several hours, then let it sit at least four more. The amount of residue on the bottom is greatly reduced, and I think the saturation is higher than when I just stirred it in and let it sit.

If I do it this way and let it sit for days I have hardly any of the powder on the bottom of the tub.

Any way will work as long as your not getting the sediment into the tank.

I let mine settle out for 12 hours and then start dripping. I also use a slutty metthod and just add enough to raise the ph by .2 ( I use a monitor) It seems to work well.
