Okay, so I've got my new 110 gal up and running. real short cycle thanks to fully cured Live Rock and IPSF. At any rate. After 3 weeks I started moving the fish from my old 37 gal FO tank in (a 40 minutes car ride) First came the 2 green chromis who did fine. The next was supposed to be my CLarkii Clown, but he disappeared. He couldn't have jumped, but Ican't find him. Most of the aquascaping is gone, so I have no clue. I'm gonna check the overflow though. it seems unlikely, but who knows. ANyway, the next week, we bought a Hippo tang. (fiancee wanted a new fish) He eats formula 2 like a pig and seems to be munching on some micro algea on the overflows, but ignores the Feather Calerpa I got with my 9 for 99. So last Saturday I brought over my huge Neon Damsel and after a day of hiding came out and starts going at the calerpa.
I'm am completely confused. The Hippo could care less and the Damsel is diggin on it. Any explination. Next weekend, my final old fish, my oldest fish (named Mr. Fish) a Yellow tailed blue Damsel PITA makes the move. I wonder what confusing things he'll do. |

Don't have a good answer for you, but my Yellow Tang completely ignores my Feather Caulerpa from the 9 for 99 deal too... Maybe something to do with the species they are providing to us?

Different tangs for different seaweed niches. My hippo tang ignores or just barely picks at any caulerpa I put in the tank, while the powder blue and foxface have a feeding frenzy over it. Same with the red tang heaven. All three love Formula 2, though.
Your damsel loves feather caulerpa? Go figure. ------------------ If it's broke, don't fix it---hide it. |
