Do Sally crabs fight each other??
I bought two about a week ago- I figured with 240 lbs of rock there shouldn't be a problem. The next day the smaller one looked beat up and the bigger one has vanished. Today the small one molted and is looking good but the bigger is still MIA. I have lost my cleaner for a week at a time and it has always reappeared and my peppermints are only seen at lights out. So I'm still hoping on the big sally. This is the second sally that I lost with no trace. Any thoughts?? |

Hi Iron Crab!
With that much hiding space, I wouldn't give up hope yet. There's a great possibilty that it is hiding, or somewhere that you cannot locate it.
As for fighting, it could be hit or miss. Some may, others may not. (that's a conclusive asnwer huh?) ![]() Good luck, Scott Z. |

Seems to me that with the size of the two missing crabs if they died I would see them. After all - the molted shell is always front and center. I have a worry that I have a nasty in there somewhere that is pulling these guys in. I've done some pretty intensive searches with a flashlite with no results. The one thing is that my cleaner is still in there untouched. I'll keep a look out and see what comes up.
Thanks, Bill |
