Post Many sandbed questions

First off what kind? I keep hearing about South Down Play Sand, is there any place on the net I can get it from?

Should I wash the sand or not?

How many lbs will I need for my 29g tank(looking for a 4" sand bed) foot print is 29" by 12"

Anything I should know before I make the swap?

This is now going to be fun, but I might as well do it now when I don't have very many corals

Yes, you can get it from here: http://www.shopreefland.com/

Not.

About 70-lbs.

If you want to save any of the wormy critters from the old sand bed, just place a thin layer of crushed coral in a shallow pan with saltwater and gently swirl it around until the worms float up and save them for later. Save the crushed coral for icy driveways.

This is not going to be fun, but I might as well do it now when I don't have very many corals.

Right.

As always Ninong has it right. I myself switched from CC to DSB and let me tell you. It was a positive switch. A smart thing to do would be to set up a holding tank for your LR and corals or what have you. I put my LR back in right after the sand and left everything else out. It took me forever to finally get all the sand settled down on the bed instead of the rocks. hope it goes well.
