Post Cleaner Shrimp

I went to a not so local fish store today and got a cleaner shrimp. i've been thinking about getting one for some time now and decided today was a good day. i also bought 2 cerith snails and i need tons more snails but after spending 23 bucks on the shrimp and 14 on the 2 snails and putting $25 of gas in my car.....my pay check was running thin and i hadnt even eaten yet....i got him all acclimated and he's in the tank now. he's still getting adjusted to the tank i think. the snails are already in motion and hopefully eating some algae. i was really going to get a few peppermint shrimp to take care of this stinking aiptasia but no such luck on finding one. i took some pic's of him w/ my regular camera hopefully my site will be up soon and i can show you my not so fantastic photography

Jon,

Same question as Ninong. Hmm...you went to a "pricey" not so local fish store. Hmm..for 14 dollars you should have gotten a good sized cleaner shrimp. I dont remember Cerith snails being that expensive.

Regards,
Ilham

I agree. Mail order snails if you can't get them around you. Don't waste your money and pay that much for TWO snails. Premium Aquatics, IPSF, Jeff's Exotic Fish. Any of those will do well for you. HTH

Fishguy_8,

Where did you get your mail orders from?? I've had 4 livestock/live rock orders with Flying fish express http://www.ffexpress.com and never had anything die on arrival.

I got my clean up crew from http://www.saltwaterfish.com . IF you paid $14 for two cerith snails, you coul dhave gotten way more from them.

Dont waste your money on a peppermint if your aptasia are of good size they usually only go for the small ones.A 1cc syringe filled with kents liquid calc stick them right below the head in the stock and then they cant retract inject and their gone in hours. Now if you just like peppies then spend away. Also beware cerith snails in my tank have been known to make do with there spare time often(lots of love)
