Help with ID.
Recently I have expeienced some plant growth in my tank and wondered if anyone could identify these. They are like green tubes which turn white at the base. Here is a picture.

I've got them as well, but so far no one has been able to give me a name on them yet.

They are called Neomeris Annulata, and they are calcium based. Nothing really to worry about, they either grow as individuals or in small clusters....they wont take over a tank unless you are dosing way to much calcium.

I also have those in my tank!!!
I thought at first they were sponges, but I must be dumb. Scuba, thx for the ID on these guys. I might try to see if they are good indicators of high/low calcium levels. The ones on my rocks are spread out, not in one particular area. I'm also wondering of another organism ID, but i'll have to take a pic later tomorrow. It looks to be a sponge (but that maybe wrong). It's white, and looks like a whole "pineapple" with little pricks coming out of it. If not white, then it's whitish cream colored. -Elmo |
