Hi, my male percula looks like he is down with something. It is not ich, since he has no white spots, but he has blackish/dark grayish marks around his body. They are not specks, but covers some small area.
I don't know what this is. How do I deal with it?? Regards, Ilham [This message has been edited by Elmo18 (edited 05-31-2001).] |

I had the same thing on a pair of them. It just went away on it's own. I thought it might have been stress induced or possibly a water quality problem at the time. Both are alive and well.

Hi Elmo! My one false perc has the same thing. The smaller one had a spot like it, it went away on it's own. It's so strange! Don't know what it is! But they are fine here.

Thanks for the replies. It is making me feel more secure.
I'm wondering if the black marks are caused by the stings from the Goniopora?? They have been there for about a week and found goniopora as surrogate. Could this be that they are building up immunity to its stings?? Hmm..hopefully he will get better, I don't want the female to be sad Regards, Ilham |

One of my percs has the same type black blotches on it. There are probably 15 or more. I have had him for almost a year but the black spots just started showing up three or four months ago. My clowns live in a colt which I don't think packs much of a sting (if any).
