Talking Frozen Food

Lately I have been having problems getting Frozen Food, my LFS just does not keep alot or it goes bad. I usually buy alot and store it in the freezer in the garage but have at times run out of some types, I usually use Ocean Nutrition and San Francisco Bay Brand food. Anyone know of a place online that sells them. I found that DrsfosterSmith.com has some but not all of the food I use.

Why not just make your own? I go to the seafood dept and spend about 5 bux and thats enough to last me months! I buy squid, shrimp, scallops, and some fish...cut it up into little bite size pieces then freez it in baggies and right before I feed I soak it in zoecon (vitamins) which helps it thaw and then feed.

Scuba,

Do you just mince it with a knife, or do you mince it up with a mixer??

One suggestion would be to take Scuba's idea, then put them into small ice cube trays or those Formula 1 frozen cubes tray. So when you feed, you just pop one out and that it.

Like scubadude, I make my own "tank food". Just put in the blender the first 1/3 of the cut up pcs of mixed fresh sea foods until it's almost like a paste, then the next 1/3... and then the next. The rationale of not putting it all at once is to make different size particles of the food for the corals, fish, critters, and inverts. Before putting in the freezer, I sprinkle flakes too, but that's optional.

the_blue_tuna has a thread in the FO Forum regarding this "home made tank food" with detailed instructions from Bughead.
