Algea's

Just to let everyone know (if you didn't already) - Eyelash blennie are perhaps the best investment I have ever made for my reef. Hair algea, almost gone or should I say mowed down. These little guys are the best farmers in town and are not expensive. I have a 55 gallon tank and in a little over a week I went from a moderate amont of hair algea to almost zip. The blennie is only about an inch and a half long. Can't wait to see what he does when he is about 3 inches. I am going to try to get a photo of his hair algea gut.

Sometimes these fish don't do very well once their hair algae food source runs out.

Are they eating other foods?

Yes I have read this in some magazines, that is why I only bought one fish. He is not on any other food as of yet - if he does run out I can put a little piece of live rock in some water next to a window and grow crops of it for him. I do not think I will have a problem in having too little algea with 3 110 watt VHO's and 2 175 watt metal halides in a 55 gallon tank.
