hello again.
I was wondering that if I get 90 lbs of rock for my 85 hex., can I cure the rock directly in the tank? Would it be ok? It is a new tank with only sand in it. Thanks for any info. |

Yes, you can cure it in the tank as long as there is no livestock in there yet.

and i hope you dont mind your tank smelling like a urinal for a while, mine sure did when i was curing my 1.5 pounds of rock, i would hate to smell that much curing at one time [img]/ubb/wink.gif[/img]

I don't recommend it due to all the detritus and waste that builds up in the tank. I really recommend letting the rock sit in a bucket of saltwater or one of those rubber made containers, wallmart $10 bucks, for atleast a week then place it in the tank. The other way you will be using your protien skimmer 24/7 and gravel cleaning for awhile... Good Luck
