Thumbs up curing rock

hello again.

I was wondering that if I get 90 lbs of rock for my 85 hex., can I cure the rock directly in the tank? Would it be ok? It is a new tank with only sand in it. Thanks for any info.

Yes, you can cure it in the tank as long as there is no livestock in there yet.

I don't recommend it due to all the detritus and waste that builds up in the tank. I really recommend letting the rock sit in a bucket of saltwater or one of those rubber made containers, wallmart $10 bucks, for atleast a week then place it in the tank. The other way you will be using your protien skimmer 24/7 and gravel cleaning for awhile... Good Luck
