either A you feed to much or B you do not have a means of exporting...ie.. harvesting macro algea.
I have recently developed a purple leafy and purple bubble looking stuff in my tank. Is this an algae...good or bad? If bad, what might have caused it and how do I get rid of it? Thanks

here is a pic of my sump which is also a fuge.
As reefhead mentioned, the algae on teh top of the rock is cyano.
However I think the algae that you are referring to is in the center of the picture and the lower right hand corner. I'm not sure of the type however I had plenty of this growing in my tank and it is harmless, other than the rate it spreads. Actually, I liked it in my tank as it added some nice red coloration.
